What egg white discharge means
Egg-white discharge — clear, stretchy, and slippery like raw egg white — is the fertile-quality cervical mucus that appears in the days leading up to ovulation. Rising oestrogen makes it this way to help sperm survive and travel toward an egg, which is why it's the single most useful natural sign that you're in your most fertile window. You can often stretch it a couple of centimetres between two fingers. After ovulation it usually turns thicker, cloudy, or dries up as progesterone takes over.
